  • The World Is Worthy of Attention.Emochromism.Flamingos are often admired for their elegance and color. Yet they also remind us that nature is not something distant or separate from us. Birds and other animals are our neighbors on this planet, living beings with whom we share the same world.Symphony of Creatures is a tribute to the beauty, peace, and harmony found in the animal world. It speaks of coexistence, respect, and compassion for all living beings.Through color, we do not escape reality. We discover it again.Oil on canvas

  • Breath of the HeightsThis painting is part of the Where the Sky Begins series, a visual journey to places where the earth rises to meet the sky. Created after experiencing the Lomnica Pass in the High Tatras, Slovakia, this painting reflects the landscape seen from an altitude of 2,190 meters above sea level. Lomnický Peak, the second-highest summit in the Tatras, dominates the horizon.Emochromism.Wonder begins when we learn to pay attention.Mountains are often admired for their height, yet their greatest gift is perspective. From the Lomnica Pass, the landscape unfolds beyond every ridge, revealing how each step upward changes not only the view, but the way we understand distance, scale, and our place within it.Some horizons are not reached by crossing them, but by learning to see them differently.Every summit changes more than the landscape. It changes the way we see.Oil on canvas

  • Hello, I'm STIA.I'm Anastasiia Kurkova, a Ukrainian painter and the creator of Emochromism. For me, color is more than something we see. It is a way of understanding the world. It is the ability to encounter the world as if it were still new.
Every painting begins with a real experience, but it becomes something more than a landscape or a city. It becomes an expression of my belief that the world remains worthy of attention, admiration, and discovery. The painting I'm holding has already found its new home. The one behind me is still part of my journey.Thank you for being here.Wonder is not naïveté.
  • St. Joseph's Church, Krakow, PolandEmochromism.Cities are often seen as places of constant movement. Yet some moments transform their rhythm.Created en plein air in Kraków's historic Podgórze district during the Catholic Feast of Corpus Christi, this painting reflects a tradition that has connected generations for centuries.Progress does not erase the past. It gives it a new rhythm.Oil on canvas

  • Wawel Castle, Kraków, PolandEmochromism.Wonder begins when we learn to pay attention.Every skyline carries more than architecture. It carries memory. The past remains meaningful only when it continues to shape the present. Light and stone become witnesses to stories that travel across generations, reminding us that traditions endure because they continue to belong to everyday life. Places become timeless when each generation finds its own meaning within them.Original oil painting on canvas

2025Where the Sky Begins series — a visual journey to places where the earth rises to meet the sky. The landscape is based on a real view of the Lomnica Pass in the High Tatras, Slovakia, seen from an altitude of 2,190 meters above sea level. The Lomnica Peak itself is the second-highest mountain in the Tatras and one of the most renowned. Working in the style of emotive colorism, my aim was not merely to depict the landscape but to convey a state of awe — that breathless moment when height, vastness, and the grandeur of nature converge.

  • A small step toward a great achievement.
My pastel drawing‑sketch for a new upcoming painting sized 240×170 cm.
That moment when an idea begins to come alive and every line becomes part of a wonderful story.
There is still a lot of work ahead, but this journey itself is what inspires me. #art #ukrainianartist #architecture
