Description
The 10th century Vasylivska Church, originally built by Vladimir the Great after the Baptism of Rus, stands as a testament to historical and cultural continuity. This remarkable reconstruction in the “Kyivska Rus” park, a grand 10-hectare reconstruction near Kyiv, mirrors the ancient landscape and vegetation of Kyiv from a thousand years ago.
This painting “Echoes of Antiquity: Vasylivska Church” was created en plein air during the “Yaroslav’s Truth” project, capturing the essence of this historically significant site, meticulously reconstructed to match its original setting as closely as possible.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to President Volodymyrovych Yanchenko and Director Natalia Koval for the opportunity to work on this historic territory.
My paintings are crafted using premium-quality paints such as Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Winton, Renesans, and Cobra, ensuring that their beauty and vibrancy will be preserved for over a century.
