Breath of the Heights

Description

This painting is part of the Where the Sky Begins series, a visual journey to places where the earth rises to meet the sky. It depicts the Lomnica Pass in the High Tatras, Slovakia, seen from an altitude of 2,190 meters above sea level. Lomnický Peak, the second-highest summit in the Tatras, is one of the defining landmarks of the Tatra Mountains.

Mountains are often admired for their height, yet their greatest gift is perspective. From the Lomnica Pass, the landscape unfolds beyond every ridge, revealing how each step upward changes not only the view, but the way we understand distance, scale, and our place within it. Some horizons are not reached by crossing them, but by learning to see them differently.

Every summit changes more than the landscape. It changes the way we see.
